We know the change in season requires attention to make sure your fleet is prepared for a safe & productive winter. To help make your season shift as easy as possible, we’re sharing our top tips to get winter-ready.
Tire Changeover
Be prepared with a fresh set of tires on your fleet. Your Kal Tire sales representative can help with all elements of your tire program including a recommendation on the tires best suited for the application, road conditions and weather you face this winter.
Does your fleet drive through BC? Don’t forget, winter rated tires or chains are required on most routes in British Columbia from October 1 to April 30.
Keep an Eye on Tread Depth
Make sure tires stay in good condition and show no signs of arising issues. Did you know? Our certified Kal Tire technicians can come to your yard to inspect your fleet on agreed regular intervals.
Check your Tire Pressure
Regularly checking tire pressure is vital during the change in season. For every 10 degrees Celsius decrease in temperature, tires lose 2 to 4 pounds of pressure. An underinflation by 20% results in a 30% reduction of tire life.
Align your Wheels
An alignment will ensure your new tires are installed at the correct angle and running optimally. During winter, correct alignment becomes even more important as road conditions worsen. An expert alignment will improve tire wear, fuel savings, equipment performance and driver comfort
